Many of our doors are available with glass vision panels. If you wish to have a vision panel in your chosen design we have a number of options available for you.
Double Glazed Unit
We fit our doors with a 24mm thick double glazed unit. The 24mm consists of 2 pieces of toughened 4mm glass sandwiched into a sealed unit with a sealed 16mm internal cavity. This cavity is filled with argon gas for good insulation, and each single pane of glass has a low-e coating. These coatings minimize the amount of UV and infrared light that can pass through the glass without compromising the amount of visible light transmitted. Each glass panel comprises of a warm-edge spacer that separates the single panes and helps to stop the cold transmitting through the glass.
Both the satin, clear and sandblasted glass can incorporate a simple or a detailed pattern into it. A pinstripe, a clear border and a house name or number are common choices, however patterned glass is also available.
Glass Style Options
We provide various options for your glazed units, as you illustrated on the right hand side of this page. Clear and satin are the most popular choices, however sandblasted glass is commonly used in fanlights with a house name or number etched into it. We can also provide bullseye, or simulated leaded glass for your door, each providing a good level of obscurity and detail to your door.
We provide a completely bespoke service, so if there is something that you’ve seen elsewhere that you’d like in your door, let us know and we can try to accommodate your specific request.
