Wonderfully thought out, beautifully designed and expertly manufactured, our timber doors aim to please. This page highlights smaller details about your new door that you may wish to know about.
Aquamac Draught Seal
Our frames include a rebate that holds the Aquamac 21 Draught seal which is the market leader in door and window seals. Aqumac has a resilient, non-stretch, non-shrinking cellular core, with a low friction, non-grab outer sheath to prevent it sticking to the door or frame. It has an excellent memory, can withstand temperatures above 70° C and below -30° C, and is not affected by paint or stains.
Our standard doors are 57mm thick which provides excellent thermal efficiency. Any panels have a polyurethane insulation core to keep the heat in. The glass panels we use in our doors include a warm edge spacer that prevents the cold reaching the internal pane of glass
Glazing bars & Beading
Some of our door styles have glazing bars. These bars are manufactured in our workshop and attached to the glass to cover the support bars within the double glazed unit. The beads are typically ovolo mouldings, however can be matched to the rest of the door or specifically manufactured.
Stormguard Weather Sill
The weather sill is part of the frame that we manufacture. It’s shape forces any residual water to run off and away from the door set to help prevent damage. The sill also incorporates a Stormguard threshold weather seal to help prevent any draughts coming in under the door. A drop down seal is also available for use with stone sills.
We use 3, Grade 13 Fire Rated hinges on our external doors to provide ultimate safety and security for your home. For stable doors we use 2 Grade 13 hinges per leaf.
