A few words…
Throughout my years as a craftsman, I regularly witnessed meticulously planned interiors and it occurred to me that often, the property exterior is neglected in favour of the internal living space. The exterior is however what identifies your property – an image, the kerb appeal – it’s where first impressions about you and your home are created. It is fundamentally the ‘face’ of your property. I felt quite passionately about this, so established The Hampshire Door Company to provide an accessible service where a replacement front door didn’t mean staying in for multiple surveyors, or engaging many different trades and security experts to make, paint and fit the door.
I wanted to provide a service offering a complete new front door and frame set, handmade from solid timbers using traditional joinery methods that would not only showcase the entrance to any home, but also provide a secure, thermally efficient and long-lasting door.
When I founded The Hampshire Door Company, I believed in a set of principles that I felt were the minimum that my customers should expect of me; principles that were increasingly disappearing. I therefore started with the following beliefs:
– The quality of my doors will be second to none – I will be proud of my product
– All of my doors will be manufactured from solid timber from sustainable sources
– All of the doors will be handmade to order in the workshop
– I will take pride in the service provided, with each of my customers being happy to recommend me to others
By following this set of core principles, from the very beginning, we continue to thrive as an honest and trustworthy company. Whilst I continue today to champion ‘showcase’ front doors, we have extended our range to other exterior doors, including folding/sliding doors, French doors, as well as interior doors.
My team of joiners, designers and assistants are also door advocates who appreciate and share the same values and passion as I did, and continue to do so today”.
